What is Crystal Retuning & Cleansing
I was always taught that crystals are like little sponges which absorb all the yucky energy until they are filled, and release good energy until they run out.
Now I work with the energy of crystals, their vibe, I no longer view them as sponges needing cleansing. Crystals have a continuous, uninterrupted flow of energy to draw upon, as long as they are vibrating at their natural frequency. The energy they receive from an external source, most frequently the Earth is the energy they vibrate/pulse with. A crystal will naturally vibrate with its particular frequency set that is contained within the rainbow of energy that is the Earth’s light body (its electromagnetic field).
When a crystal vibrates with energies that are not quite the same as its natural energy, it moves “out of tune” with the Earth.
Crystals that are not tuned to their natural receiving frequency are not going to be able to vibe well. In order to return them to their natural resonant frequency, they need to be re-tuned. This is where the concept of “cleanse” comes from.
You may find that if set your intention to retuning your crystal it will rapidly respond.
As they sit in your home they are influenced by everything going on in your area & alignment with their natural vibration is easily influenced, regardless of how high your cosmic ass is vibing. Regularly retuning your precious crystals, especially before & after you use them ensures they are exuding their correct healing vibes for you to fully receive their positive benefits.
How to Retune your Crystals
Energetically connecting to the infinite source of Cosmic Energy & Mother Earth is a fast and effective way to re-tune your crystal.
- Choose a quite space either inside or outside.
- Ground yourself, put in your spiritual protection & set your intention to clear & cleanse your crystal/s, connect to source energy.
- Find two dents/holes in the crystal, if there are none then choose two places which feel right.
- Place index finger and middle finger on the holes/dents
- Place your thumb either on the earth or on a piece of wood. The two fingers are positive & negative and the thumb is grounding to the earth.
- Ground it and hold for 1 – 1 ½ minutes with the intention of taking out all recordings & negative influences. Erase everything for the highest good of all, transforming the energy sending it directly to source to be processed & align the crystal to it's original frequency, connecting it to the earth & source energy, pure unconditional love.
- Close the space with love & gratitude
Traditional Approaches to Cleansing & Re-Charging Crystals
Sound is an efficient tool to use in re-tuning crystals and stones. Sound is a mechanical energy caused by the movement of energy through the air.
You can use drums, singing bowls, gongs, music, solfeggio frequencies or any other loud source of sound. You will be guided to stop when you feel they are clear, because you are in the process.
Earthing: Place crystals in Sunlight on the Earth with the intention of re-aligning to their natural vibration.
Some crystals are a little sensitive to light, indirect sunlight is sufficient. Be mindful clear quartz can ignite & cause fires so it is best out of direct sunlight. Some crystals may fade or become brittle.
Bury your crystals in the Earth. Check in with your crystals intuitively as to how long to bury them for. It might be 1 day or 2 weeks. Find a well drained area of earth, dig a shallow hole. Place your crystals in it & cover. Mark the area so you know where they are & set the intention to clear & realign them.
Polished crystals have undergone lapidary processes and certain polishing powders & compounds are used & may cause discolouration & damage to the surface of the crystals. Use caution with salt water & burying in soils with these crystals so you do not damage them.
Some people like to place their crystals under the full moon. This does not resonate for me personally as I find the Full Moon energies quite volatile. Nurses, hospital staff & Police officers notice a significant increase in 'crazy' when the moon is in its full phase. It generally negatively affects human behaviour. It's just not an energy I want to align my crystals to & I find the quickest, least interference & most effective method is to work directly with pure source energy.
Using other crystals such as;
Selenite or Shungite Charging Plates
Place the crystals on the charging plates & leave for 24-48 hours
Place in a bag with Carnelian
Shungite Plates
Carnelian Tumbles
